"The time will come when Electricity will be for everyone,
like the waters of the earth and the winds of Heaven.
It must be provided, and provided
liberally, enabling the people to
use it as they wish, like the air
which we breathe."
This quote inspired the creation of this body of work. Willowholme (Carlisle) once sited a coal power station, built in 1927. The developers also used the quote as their premise for change and development of the power station. But in 1988, the power station was demolished and the area’s development halted. Willowholme’s infrastructure declined and has continued to decline. Electricity’s premise developed Carlisle but held Willowholme back.
